New home for the wild hatchlings at the Rescue Centre!

This week, the team of the Green Balkans Rescue Centre can brag about the installation of another adaptation aviary (hack).

This time we put a hack in the Centre's yard! Thus, the total number of hacks in the Rescue Centre becomes 10. Six of them are located in the visitor part, and the other four are in the yard of the centre. We use them to adapt and release young birds of different species. This reduces the chance of imprinting. When birds are young, they become easily attached to humans and become dependent on them, making it impossible for releasing later.

The hack release method eliminates the chance of imprinting. After placing the bird in the hack, it has no contact with humans and remains partially independent until its release. Until then, we continue to feed the young animal through a special 'elevator'. This way, it does not associate food with humans and is completely wild after its release.

At this moment in our hack, there is a young Brown Own, which after reaching a certain age will be released into nature and will be able to begin its happy and wild life!
