New entries in the poachers’ black list

21.01.2009

Four new birds completed the poachers’ black list of the Rescue Center in less than a week.
Two Common Buzzards, a Great Egret, and a Shelduck, all being threatened species, had been shot by poachers’ guns.
The birds were found in the regions of Stara Zagora, Burgas, Russe, and Pomorie during the midwinter waterfowl count that was held last week.
Representatives of Green Balkans and the Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Waters witnessed the shooting at the Shelduck by poachers that raged in Pomorie Lake Protected Site. All birds died of their wounds soon after being received at the Center.
Keep watching the “black” rubric of the Rescue Center – the hunting season is at its height.
