Looking for new places to house the wild Saker falcon families!06.11.2020
The team of the 'Reintroduction of the Saker falcon in Bulgaria' project used the last warm autumn days to complete its tasks in the field.
The purpose of the several-day trips was to explore potential new places to place artificial nests for Saker falcons. Part of the field team were students from the Trakia University, trained at the Green Balkans' Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Center, part of the 'Student Internships - Phase 2' project of the Ministry of Education, funded by the Operational Program 'Science and Education for Smart Growth', co-financed from the European Social Fund. We remind you that in the 2020's spring a total of 6 nests were installed, for which we used a new technology of manufacture and installation.
By the end of 2020, our team must have installed a total of 10, and by the end of 2021 as many more platforms.
