In the middle of last week together with volunteers we released one Black Stork, one Grey Heron and twenty-four White Storks.
Every single bird came to us for one reason or another, some were orphaned and we had to rear them, other were sick and needed to be treated in our clinic.
The birds can be released from the Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre only after a medical check-up from our veterinary surgeons so that we can be sure that they are healthy and ready to live in the wild. After the check-up the birds get marked with rings, dewormed and disinfested for the last time and afterwards they are transported to the releasing site.
We wish them good luck and an uneventful migration to the south.
