Green Balkans visited the children from the villages of Borilovo and Yagoda in the Stara Zagora region
09.08.2022
At the beginning of August, the Green Balkans team met with children from two villages from the Stara Zagora region. The purpose of the visit was to draw the attention of young people from the local community to the problem of environmental pollution and the damage that people do to nature.
The visit was part of the activities planned under the project "For a cleaner nature - today, tomorrow and forever", financed by the program "You and Lidl for a better life", in partnership with the Foundation "Workshop for Civic Initiatives" and the Bulgarian donation forum.
We talked to over 60 children and their parents from the Stara Zagora villages of Borilovo and Yagoda about nature and our print on it. A major focus of our conversations were the waste we all generate and what it does to animals. A model of a stork's nest with waste in it, prepared for the project, helped us to visualize the problem and prove its seriousness.
At the end of our visit with the young curious people, we made them happy by releasing common kestrels raised at the baby sector of the Rescue Center of Green Balkans.
The activities are implemented under the project "For a cleaner nature - today, tomorrow and forever". The present project is implemented thanks to Lidl Bulgaria's largest socially responsible initiative "You and Lidl for a better life", in partnership with the "Workshop for Civic Initiatives" Foundation and the Bulgarian Donor Forum.
