Green Balkans took part in the European vulture conference

The Green Balkans team took part in the European Vulture Conference which ended just a few days ago.

This important event took place over 4 days in the Algarve region in Portugal and gathered over 240 participants. 72 presentations were given within the conference and 34 posters told us about different organizations’ work with vulture species.

Green Balkans shared their experience within the ‘Bright Future for the Black Vulture’ LIFE14 NAT/BG/649 project and presented the results of the vulture reintroduction programme in Bulgaria, while our colleagues at the Rehabilitation and Breeding Center presented a poster on ‘Ex-situ activities regarding vultures at the Green Balkans Rescue Center’. Guests could find out more about patients at the Center and their cases.

We met old friends, made new ones and learned the latest news about vulture conservation in Europe. We’d like to thank the Vulture Conservation Foundation for organizing the event. Such meetings help specialists all over Europe share experience and expertise as well as discuss new ideas about vulture conservation on the continent.
