Green Balkans celebrated the International Volunteer Day – 5th December
06.12.2019The Green Balkans team celebrated the International Volunteer Day in Stara Zagora and Plovdiv. In Stara Zagora, we invited volunteers and enthusiasts at the Green Balkans Rescue Center, where our colleagues, Andi and Stefka told everyone about the most interesting cases of the year. We heard the stories of the baby otter and the late autumn owls, as well as many other curious cases at the Rescue Center. Everyone shared their experience and before the night was over, our team had prepared an interactive game for all guests. Our enthusiasts had to use their knowledge and smartphones to participate and win, we all learned new and interesting facts about wildlife and the best and quickest answers got our special prizes. All participants received a complementary snowflake ornament for their Christmas tree.
Our colleagues in Plovdiv also celebrated the event with volunteers who told everyone about the initiatives throughout the year. One of the Green Balkans newest and most enthusiastic volunteers, Mina Popova, gave a short presentation about her experiences with us this summer. Everyone listened about the Pomorie Lake volunteers brigade and about being an intern at the Rescue Center for a weekend. Naturally, we didn’t miss the traditional quiz with prizes for all, prepared by our volunteer, Lachezara from the Green Balkans Volunteers Academy.
A big thank you to everyone who joined the Green Balkans celebrations!
We’d also like to thank everyone who were involved with the Green Balkans cause throughout the year and have contributed to the protection of Bulgarian wildlife!
We hope you will continue to support our cause and will work with the same enthusiasm together For Our Nature!
