This Monday, the Green Balkans Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Center was a topic of conversation at children's activities in the juvenile area of the Zachary Kniazheski Regional Library in Stara Zagora.

In addition to the team of “NATURA 2000 in Bulgaria - NEW HORIZONS” LIFE17 GIE/BG/000371 project, special guests were Dr. Rusko Petrov - Operations Manager and veterinarian of the Green Balkans Rehabilitation and Breeding Center, as well as the Little Owl named Blaga - a representative of the Center's patients. With a permanent disability after an incident the owl is now under the constant care of the veterinarians.

The children learned about the stories of other patients from the Center, as well as about the breeding program aimed at restoring rare and extinct species in Bulgaria such as the Bearded and Griffon Vultures, Falcon, Lesser Kestrel and many more.

Do not miss out the following Monday, when we will talk about the largest falcon in Bulgaria - the Saker Falcon that, unfortunately, is now extinct in Bulgaria. How we are doing to restore it and what you can do about it - you can learn when you visit us!
