First egg for the Saker falcons at the Rescue Center!
28.02.2022The first Saker falcon's egg at the Green Balkans Wildlife Rescue Center was laid two days ago!
It belongs to Dobri and Valna, who are among the first Saker falcon pairs at the Center to start copulating.
We remind you that the birds are part of our work under the "Reintroduction of the Saker falcon in Bulgaria" project, and our goal is up to 20 youngs, hatched at the Rescue Center and released into the wild per year!
We currently have a total of thirteen pairs of falcons, five of which are already actively copulating and two are in preparation!
We hope that this year we will have many living and healthy Saker falcons, hatched under the wings of their parents and raised with our help, which later we will be able to see to fly freely in the sky! And, until then, we promise to inform you periodically about the news about our falcon families!
The 'Reintroduction of the Saker Falcon in Bulgaria' project is funded by Mohamed Bin Zayed Raptor Conservation Fund and Armeec JSC.
