Fieldwork as part of the activities of the Green Balkans within the "Egyptian Vulture New LIFE" project
20.12.2021A team from the Green Balkans, part of the ''Egyptian Vulture New LIFE" project, visited the delayed-release enclosure last week near the Rhodopean village of Potochnitsa.
The team's task was to repair, clean and disinfect the facility adapted for the release of adult Egyptian vultures, as part of the methodology used in the project.
After the task was completed and the aviary was prepared for its new inhabitants, who we expect to be moved there early next spring, our team focused on the video surveillance specially built in the area of the vulture feeding site. We checked and cleaned the cameras, and inspected the photovoltaic system.
And before we left, we fed the wild birds inhabiting the area at the moment.
So, everything is ready for the new field season, waiting for the next inhabitants of the aviary and its site - the Egyptian vultures.
