Green Balkans also participated in the festival "ON GREEN" on June 17th and 18th.
On the first day, our colleagues from the Rescue Center engaged with interested participants and conducted an ornithological walk in Bedechka. In the urban atmosphere, we often fail to notice the nature that surrounds us. That's precisely why this walk was organized - as a monitoring activity to remind ourselves of the beauty of paying attention and listening to bird songs.
On Sunday, we dedicated ourselves to family activities, specifically assembling wooden birdhouses. Each person who made a birdhouse took it home with the promise to place it in a suitable location and thus support the birds during the next breeding season.
Everyone had the opportunity to learn more about our "wild helpers" - the Common Buzzard named "Harry" and the Кestrel named "Vladko" - why they were injured and why they remained in our care.
The project 'We Give Nature a Voice” by the Coalition “For the Nature”, implemented in collaboration with the Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation, was also presented.
