Farewell to the last juvenile white storks from the Green Balkans' Wildlife rehabilitation and breeding center

18.09.2019

Today, our team and volunteers of the Green Balkans' Wildlife rehabilitation and breeding center said their farewell to the last white storks raised in the Center this summer.

9 birds in total flied free in the wild after health chek of all the storks in the aviaries of the Center.

As usual, the fethered animals were examined, desinfested and marked by the veterinarians of the Center. Assisstants in this difficult initiation were our volunteers students from the National Professional School of Veterinary Medicine 'Ivan Pavlov".

Temporary home of the young birds was again the roof of an abandoned pump station on the shore of a small dam near Opan village, Stara Zagora.

Fair wind to our storcks on their long migrational flyway and see you again in the spring, but not in the Center, but in the wild!

This activity is part of "Blue summer with Green Balkans" project, realised with the kind support of Community donation fund - Stara Zagora.
