Christmas present!

Christmas present!

A young Egyptian vulture arrived at the Green Balkans Rescue Centre on Christmas Eve.

It is a gift from our longtime colleagues from the Jerez Zoo, for the 'Egyptian Vulture New LIFE' project.

The bird hatched this year. We went through a lot of vicissitudes until we managed to transport it, but now it is here with us.

After examination by the Centre's veterinarians, the vulture was housed in the so-called "commodity" aviary at the Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre. There, it will wait for the beginning of summer, in the company of 4 more birds of the same species. After, it will be released in nature by a special method to become part of our efforts to save the species in our country.
