Children's Day with Green Balkans and Stara Zagora Municipality
01.06.2023On June 1, 2023, we from Green Balkans and the Green Balkans Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Center participated in the cultural calendar of Stara Zagora Municipality, celebrating Children's Day.
The festival was wonderful, sunny, colorful, and filled with the presence of many organizations and hobby clubs showing their activities. Green Balkans and the Green Balkans Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Center delighted the children with realistic models of the Black and Griffon Vultures, as well as a stork's nest with an adult stork and a little stork, demonstrating the harm caused by littering and polluting nature.
The most impressive for our young visitors and their parents were the birds from the Rescue Center - the Griffon Vulture named Vladko and the Egyptian Vulture named Haris. With their help, we explained to the children about protected bird species, the Natura 2000 network, and how we take care of Bulgarian nature.
Visitors to the event could also learn interesting facts about the Griffon Vulture by solving an interactive puzzle game, and the most interested ones received informational materials such as brochures, posters, and stickers.
