Such news arrived today for one of the Black Storks, which has undergone treatment at the Centre. The young bird was received on June 25th 2010, after it fell off a nest it shared with two more siblings in the area of the Vranyak village near Vratsa.
The bird was transported to the Rescue Centre thanks to representatives of the RIEW – Vratsa.
After support treatment, it was released on August 1st 2010, together with the two other birds from the same nest.
Apparently the young stork adapted successfully and migrated in the autumn together with the rest of the Black Storks along their traditional migratory routes, as in September 26th 2010 it was photographed in a fish pond in Israel.
The bird was photographed by Lavi Lilo in the area of Mishmar Haemek, and the picture only showed a part of the inscription and the number of the ring.
Only now it was recognized and we received the information for it.
We hope that at present the young stork is fine and has returned to its natal nest to breed and raise youngs.
