Another Egyptian Vulture pair in the Rescue Centre has an egg!

Following the holidays we are glad to share with you the joyful news that another Egyptian Vulture pair in the Green Balkans Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre have an egg! It came about on the eve of Easter.

Our team is very hopeful it's fertile, as they have observed multiple copulations between the birds. We remind that the pair is a gift from the Prague Zoo for the aims of the 'Egyptian Vulture NEW LIFE' project (LIFE16 NAT/BG/000874), and the birds' offspring is to be released to fly free in the skies of Bulgaria one day!

We thank sincerely Anton Vidal from the Prague Zoo, who is in charge of Egyptian Vultures in the EAZA system of zoos. Thanks to his suggestion the vultures have found their second home, in the Green Balkans Rescue Centre. This is only the start and we hope to have more good news to share in the upcoming months!
