Ambassadors of nature

18.01.2019
Today the Green Balkans Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Center team along with participants from the ‘NATURA 2000 in Bulgaria - NEW HORIZONS’ team visited the children from the ‘Kukurqk’ Educational center and the ‘Hvarchilo’ Children center in Stara Zagora.

With some help from our wildlife ambassadors - the little owl Blaga and the common kestrel Vladko, we told the children how we can all help wildlife and protect nature. The kids learned about Vladko and Blaga’s life stories, how they got into the Rescue Center, why we cannot release them into the wild and how they now help us and give their share to protecting wildlife. We told them about the red-breasted geese that come every winter to Bulgaria, how bats are extremely important for us, who are nature’s janitors and shared interesting stories about patients at the Wildlife Center. All kids got a present from us - ‘The Adventures of Brent, the Red-breasted Goose’ booklet.

We welcome all nature lovers who are interested in rare species to the Green Balkans Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Center in Stara Zagora where they can learn more about wildlife and help preserve it!

We would like to thank our hosts from the ‘Kukurqk’ Educational center and the ‘Hvarchilo’ Children center in Stara Zagora for the warm welcome. We had a great time!

The Green Balkans Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Center information activities are implemented within the NATURA 2000 IN BULGARIA - NEW HORIZONS - LIFE17 GIE/BG/000371 project.
