At the end of last week another 26 white storks were released. All of them were patients at the Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre and had to be treated or reared in our baby rooms.
Of course, before we released them the veterinary surgeons at the Centre examined them thoroughly, disinfested them and placed marked rings from the Bulgarian Ornithological Centre on them.
We are happy that the event was visited again by many people that responded to our invitation in the social networks. The volunteers we currently have – a group of 13 French scouts – were helping out in this not so easy task.
This event did not go by without the help from our trainees – veterinary students in the Trakia University!
