7 white storks, 1 owl and 3 common buzzards were donated to the Stara Zagora Zoo by the Green Balkans Wildlife Rescue Center.
The birds have undergone a course of treatment at the Center, but the permanent injuries they have do not allow them to live alone in the wild. Therefore, the team of the Rescue Center of the Green Balkans decided to redirect the birds to the Stara Zagora Zoo, as part of the activities of the Center for strengthening zoo collections with animals that cannot live alone in nature.
Green Balkans and Stara Zagora Zoo have a traditional partnership, during which many birds, including a pair of griffon vultures, were given to the zoo.
We remind you that this year the egg of the Griffon Vulture was moved for hatching in the incubators of the Center, but, unfortunately, it turned out to be unfertilized!
Such a partnership, in the name of animals, is a joy for us. We are always ready to help improve the prestige of the zoo, turning it into a place not only to attract guests and residents of the city, but also a conservation center, which works to support the wildlife population in our country.
