It’s time for a fest!
On the 22th of April we celebrated Earth Day together with small and big schools and kindergartens in the towns of Partizani, Medovets and Dobromir in Provadia Municipality.

During our meetings with more than 200 children and their parents and teachers we presented our activities in the area, we familiarised the children with the Egyptian vulture, that is native to their region and we discussed why it is important to preserve nature.

Thanks to an Egyptian vultures` full-scale model with natural colors, that we brought with us, those present at our meetings could form a clear view how the rare birds look like.
We gave out small gifts – stickers with Egyptian vultures for every child, and the mayors, school directors and local sympathizers received reusable cups and bags, which also were with the image of the emblematic for the region species.

The buzzard Harry was our helper in the initiative – it is one of the Rescue Centers birds` with permanent injuries, that is trained for work with children.

We like to remind you that a supplementary feeding station is situated near the village of Partizani, where for many years now we are periodically supplying food for vultures and other birds of prey, inhabiting the region.

The activities are financed by the Municipality of Prague and Prague Zoo in the framework of the project “Protection of the Egyptian Vulture in the Balkans”
